1111 Coventry Road WAtkinsville, GA

What can we say about this charming farmhouse?

Well it was love at first sight for us, that is for sure. Never mind that we have an affinity for farmhouses in general-this one is truly a must see.
Before we even stepped inside, we were given a tour of the property by the owners. Sprawling over 6 acres, 1111 Coventry Road is actually comprised of two lots, one with direct access to Colham Ferry Rd. The owners had originally thought of building another house for extended family, but decided against it, and now the lot is open pasture, and home to their delightful group of chickens.

The main homesite is breathtaking. It offers custom landscape, but not so much that it needs a lot of care or maintenance. Full of native shrubs and bushes, it feels like the perfect place to play hide and seek, go on a scavenger hunt or take a nature walk. Large wooded areas open into grassy knolls at every turn, we even spotted the kids ‘secret’ camping area.  Ideal for hanging hammocks, climbing trees, or relaxing with a good book, ( I do not know where you want to fit this is but it might be good to say at one point this was actually a nursery) we were content to stay outside, but of course-we were there to tour the house!

Walking through the back door after our tour, into the potting room/mudroom, with a sink and cabinets this space is a must have for those with a green thumb, but also perfectly suited as a mudroom as evidenced by the rows of shoes lined up or a great place to dry off after spending the afternoon hanging on the fantastic open deck with not only views of the custom landscape but also the clear blue refreshing pool in front of you.
Sliders let us into open expansive kitchen, and we should mention the whole back wall of the kitchen is wall to wall sliding glass doors. It is breathtaking. The kitchen is huge and meant for gatherings and holidays and has been updated with the perfect blend of modern and classic.
There is a living room and office/library on the main floor, located on either side of the wide center hallway that looks straight through to the backyard. Don’t forget to check out the original phone nook on the wall, a sweet touch of history left to admire. The guest room and full bath round out this level, the bath even sporting a clawfoot tub.

We love the layout of the upstairs. There are three bedrooms centered by the open loft/media area, perfect for weekend movie night. One of the three has an en suite bath-perfect for those that like a little more privacy, and all three have gorgeous natural light and plenty of closet space.

The master suite is our favorite though. The high ceilings and double set windows make it feel bright and open and the soft color on the walls feels spa-like and relaxing. We loved the reading nook, I could totally picture myself with a good book and a cuppa. The en suite bath has an oversized glass shower, double vanity and a even a skylight completing the feeling of being miles away. It is heavenly.

We were able to peek into the 3 car detached garage as well. With room for a workshop and an apartment upstairs, this space can be adapted to suite any of  your needs.

Overall, this listing feels like home from the minute you pull up the drive- I swear you can almost smell cookies baking in the over. It is minutes from downtown Watkinsville and all of your necessities, but it truly feels miles away. Perfect for those looking to get away from it all, but still want the conveniences of in town living.
